Chilliwack Bruins News Release
Chilliwack BC - Tyson Barrie netted the shootout winner as the Kelowna Rockets battled to a 4-3 victory over the Chilliwack Bruins.
The Rockets opened up a 2-0 first period lead on goals by Colin Long and Mylan Kytnar before the Bruins came back with goals by Oscar Moller and Brandon Campos. Moller's second goal of the game, a shorthanded breakaway at 8:09 of period three, gave the Bruins their first lead of the night. But a goal by defenseman Luke Schenn at 13:38 knotted the game at 3 and the two teams decided it in the shootout.
With the single point the Bruins manage to increase their lead to three points over the idle Kamloops Blazers for 7th in the WHL's Western Conference. Both teams have played 68 games on the season.
The Bruins next game will be the back end of a home and home series, against the Rockets in Kelowna on Wednesday night.
