Peoria Rough Riders News Release

The Peoria Pirates announced today that the all-time Pirates sack leader and the 2003 AFL Ironman of the Year for the Buffalo Destroyers Ken "Big Daddy" Bouie is returning for the 2004 season which kicks off at home on April 9th.

"Kenny has been a member of two championship teams in Peoria, his professionalism, attitude and enthusiasm contribute to the team in a way that goes far beyond his considerable ability to contribute on the football field. He will set standards that to which he will hold other teammates accountable. As we all know those levels of expectations from Ken Bouie are of a Championship caliber, "said Peoria Pirates Head Coach Bruce Cowdrey.

In 2003 Bouie played 14 games for the Buffalo Destroyers and had 20 tackles and 4 quarterback sacks. He is a versatile player, which is valuable in the two way Ironman game of arena football. Bouie can play on the offensive and defensive line as well as Full back and Linebacker. Bouie can also snap the ball and is a standout on special teams. Bouie is tied with Eric Johnson as the All-Time Peoria Pirates Sack Leader with 12 in a single season. Johnson is also returning to play this year with the Pirates.

The Pirates are entering their 6th year of existence. In that time they've won the 2000 IFL Gold Cup and the 2002 Arena Cup. af2 Pirates 2004 season seats are on sale now.
