October 14, 2018 - United Soccer League Championship (USL)
Philadelphia Union II News Release
BETHLEHEM, Pa. - Bethlehem Steel FC will face off against in-state rival the Pittsburgh Riverhounds in the club's 2018 USL Cup Playoffs opener. Kick off from Highmark Stadium is set for Saturday, Oct. 20 at 7 p.m.
Steel FC earned the sixth seed Sunday evening, defeating the Tampa Bay Rowdies in its regular season finale at Goodman Stadium on the campus of Lehigh University, 1-0. Coupled with results from around the conference, Steel FC's second-consecutive postseason trip saw the club finish the highest in the table in club history.
The official USL affiliate of the Philadelphia Union, Steel FC has had another record-breaking season in 2018, setting the club record for wins (14), goals (56), points (50) and victories at home (eight). The club has done this while getting younger than its 2017 playoff squad with six players 20-years-old or younger playing at least 500 minutes.
