Best in the West: Vipers Crowned Western Conference Champions

EDINBURG, Texas - The Rio Grande Valley Vipers (2-0) walked away with the title of Western Conference Champions after defeating the Agua Caliente Clippers (1-1) 125-114 in the Western Conference finals of the 2021-2022 NBA G League Playoffs Presented by Google Pixel.

Mfiondu Kabengele led the Vipers with a double-double (27 points and 10 rebounds). Houston Rockets Two-Way player Anthony Lamb added 23 points, seven rebounds and six assists to the board. Houston Rockets assignee Daishen Nix made his return to RGV with 22 points, six rebounds and seven assists. Marcus Foster contributed 16 points and seven assists. Tyler Bey came off the bench to score 13 points and seven rebounds. Houston Rockets Two-Way player Trevelin Queen reached 12 points, eight rebounds and seven assists.

Agua Caliente was led by Nate Darling with 29 points and five rebounds. Jordan Ford finished the game with 24 points, five rebounds and five assists. Agua Caliente Clippers assignee Brandon Boston Jr. had 21 points and six rebounds. Keaton Wallace posted 12 points. Shevon Thompson rounded up the list of double figures in scoring with 10 points and eight rebounds.

The Western Conference Champions will now move on to the G League Finals. The Vipers will take on the Eastern Conference Champions which will be determined from the game winner of the Delaware Blue Coats (3) and Raptors 905 (1) game. The finals will consist of a best two out of three series with the first game to be played on Tuesday, April 12 (location, time and opponent to be determined) followed by game two on Thursday, April 14 (location, time and opponent to be determined).
