TULSA, OK - The Central Hockey League announced on Monday that Tulsa Oilers forward Ben Gordon has been selected as the Oakley CHL Player of the Week for the period ending January 12. Gordon earns Player of the Week honors for the second time this season.

In four games last week, Gordon scored four goals and dished out four assists while helping the Oilers to victories in three of the four contests. The Minnesota native began his impressive run in Rapid City on Tuesday by chipping in a power play goal in Tulsa's 3-0 victory. Back at the BOK Center on Friday evening, Gordon had a pair of assists as the Oilers rolled to a 5-2 win over the Brampton Beast. Gordon's best performance of the week occurred on Saturday night on home ice when he recorded his second hat-trick of the season to lift the Oilers to a 7-2 rout of the Beast. The 28-year old capped off his stellar stretch by registering his third straight multi-point game with two assists in a 6-5 loss to the Allen Americans.

A versatile offensive player who has seen time at left wing and center this season, Gordon ranks fourth in the CHL with 49 points (21 goals, 28 assists) and is third in the league with 145 shots on goal. In his sixth season of pro hockey and second as an Oiler, Gordon has 340 career points in 337 games.

For his selection as CHL Player of the Week, Gordon will receive a special gift from Oakley.

Gordon and the Oilers return to the BOK Center at 7:35 p.m. on Friday, January 17th for the fifth meeting of the season with the Missouri Mavericks. For tickets, call 918-632-7825 or log on to www.tulsaoilers.com.
