May 16, 2021 - Pacific Coast League (PCL)
Salt Lake Bees News Release

Anthony Bemboom's two homer night gave the Bees an 8-7 comeback victory over the Tacoma Rainiers on Saturday night at Smith's Ballpark.

Tacoma struck for four runs against Salt Lake starter Jose Suarez in the first inning, but the Bees began to chip away immediately as Brandon Marsh scored on a Keon Wong double in the bottom half of the inning. Wong drove in Marsh again in the third on a single to cut the deficit to 2 runs. In the fifth Taylor Trammel hit a solo home run for Tacoma but the Bees answered with home runs from Preston Palmeiro and Wong to get back within a run. Bemboom put the Bees in front with a two-run shot in the sixth, Wong added a RBI double in the seventh and Bemboom added needed insurance in the eighth with his second homer of the night.

Suarez settled in to allow four runs (one earned) over four innings in his first start of the season for the Bees. Felix Pena picked up the win with four innings of relief and a single run allowed. Tacoma was able to score two runs off Jake Reed in the ninth, but Reed held on to collect his first save of the season.

The Bees and Rainiers will meet for a Sunday matinee tomorrow. First pitch is scheduled for 1:05 p.m.
