Beloit, WI - The Beloit Sky Carp scored the final four runs of Wednesday's contest as they knocked off the Peoria Chiefs 4-1 from ABC Supply Stadium.

For the second night in a row, the game started out as a pitcher's duel. Peoria starter Logan Gragg allowed a pair of first inning hits but worked around early traffic to keep the game scoreless. Beloit starter Pat Monteverde, who was named the Midwest League's Pitcher of the Week on Monday, was on his game as well. The two pitchers traded zeroes through three.

In the fourth, Peoria finally broke through. With two strikes on him, LJ Jones blooped a single into left field to give the Chiefs a 1-0 lead.

The Peoria advantage was safe until the sixth, when Beloit took control of the game. Second baseman Cody Morissette, who was a late scratch on Tuesday, homered to right to tie the game, 1-1. Later, a pair of doubles propelled Beloit in front. Bennett Hostetler doubled to left to make it 2-1 Sky Carp. Then, Dalvy Rosario added a double of his own to plate Hostetler. Two of the three runs were charged to Gragg, who ended up being charged with a tough luck loss, despite allowing just the two earned runs.

The Sky Carp tacked on one more run in the seventh, while their bullpen allowed just one hit in 3.1 innings of work. Reliever Tyler Mitzel earned the win out of the 'pen.

The series continues tomorrow from Beloit. Michael McGreevy is the probable starter for Peoria, while left-hander Dax Fulton is scheduled to go for the Sky Carp.
