
Bellevue Blackhawks to hold first open tryout camp

Bellevue, WA. The ABA Bellevue Blackhawks professional basketball team announced today that they will hold their first open tryout camp on Saturday, August 28th at Highline Community College, 2400 S. 240th St, Des Moines, WA beginning at 930AM. The camp will be open to anone over the age of 18 with aspirations of playing pro basketball.
To register, a player must contact the Bellevue Blackhawks directly by phone or email, pay a one-time registration fee of $100. Cashier's checks and money orders should be made out to Puget Sound Sports and may be sent via regular mail to: Puget Sound Sports, P.O. Box 19491, Seattle WA 98109 or delivered in person on the day of the tryouts. Players may also register online at pugetsoundsports.net using PayPal. The fee covers the professional staff, a T-shirt, lunch and a chance to be taped for use in a brand new sports reality-TV show called "Making the Team."
The camp will be conducted by the Blackhawks staff. Players will compete for an invitation to the Blackhawks training camp in November. The Blackhawks are expected to play a 10-man roster and a five-man practice squad.
Players at the event will be filed by Putget Sound Sports for possible inclusion in the new reality-TV show: "Making the Team: Pro Basketball Tryout of a Lifetime." "Making the Team" will shoot all four Blackhawks tryout camps, then allow TV viewers to select the players who should move onto the next round. In the final of four shows, the audience will select the ultimate winner, who will be guaranteed to be offered a free agent contract to play for the Bellevue Blackhawks in the 2004-2005 season. The player's name will be announced live on a local Seattle television program.
