
Belle Named to Team Canada

Tri-City Americans News Release
Kennewick, WA â The Tri-City Americans today are pleased to announce that 18-year- old defenseman Shawn Belle has been named to the Canadian National World Junior club. The tournament is December 26th through January 5th in Helsinki, Finland.
The 22-man roster includes 10 players from the Western Hockey League. The roster consists of 12 forwards, eight defenseman and two goaltenders.
"We are all excited for Shawn for this opportunity to represent his country with Team Canada. On behalf of the entire organization we wish him all the best in his quest to bring home a medal from the World Junior Championships," said Americans general manager Bob Tory.
The Americans return home after a doubleheader road sweep of the Prince George Cougars last weekend to face the Everett Silvertips tonight at 7:05 p.m. in the Tri-Cities Coliseum. Tri-City is currently leading the U.S. Division by five points with a record of 17-13-5-1, 40 points and the club is currently on a three-game winning streak.
Fans are encouraged tonight to bring an unwrapped toy for a boy or girl to donate to the Marine Corps Toys for Tots drive.
