
Bell and Castro Selected for 2014 FSL All-Star Game

Bradenton, Fla. - Bradenton Marauders outfielder Josh Bell and left-handed pitcher Orlando Castro have been chosen as 2014 Florida State League Mid-Season All-Stars. They will suit up for the South Division All-Stars for the 2014 Florida State League All-Star Game sponsored by the Bradenton Area Convention and Visitors Bureau. The game will be played at McKechnie Field in Bradenton on Saturday, June 14, at 7:05 p.m. Both players are making their second All-Star team of their professional careers. Bell and Castro were both named South Atlantic League Mid-Season All-Stars in 2013.
Bell is a 21-year-old outfielder from Irving, Texas. The switch-hitter is batting .308 with 20 extra-base hits this season, while driving in 34 runs and scoring 21. He has 12 doubles, three triples, and hit his fifth home run of the season on Sunday at Clearwater. His 97 total bases is the fourth highest total in the Florida State League this season. Baseball America tabbed Bell as the seventh best prospect in the Pirates organization before the season. MLB.com rates Bell as the sixth best prospect in the Pirates system. Bell is in his third season of professional baseball.
Castro is a 22-year-old pitcher for San Pedro Sula, Honduras. He is 3-3 with an ERA of 2.77 in 11 appearances (10 starts) this season. He has thrown 61 2/3 innings, striking out 45 batters and surrendering just eight walks. He is pacing the Florida State League in WHIP (0.92). The league is batting .223 against him. Castro is in his fourth season of professional baseball.
The McKechnie Field ticket office is open on non-gamedays Tuesday-Friday from 11:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. On Monday-Friday gamedays the ticket office is open from noon until the conclusion of the game.
