Jupiter Hammerheads News Release

JUPITER, FL - The Hammerheads fell apart in the sixth and seventh inning on Tuesday, including a 10-run seventh, as they fell to Dunedin 14-2.

Jupiter jumped out to an early 2-0 lead when Viosergy Rosa hit a two-run double over the center fielder in the third inning.

The Sharks would keep control of the lead until the Blue Jays broke through in the sixth inning.

After Dunedin had got a run back thanks to a groundout with the bases loaded, Nick Baligod hit a grounder into the hole at short. Terrence Dayleg had to backhand the ball and his throw to first got away from Ryan Rieger as two runs came home and the Blue Jays took the lead.

Dunedin would pick up another run when Kellen Sweeney doubled to left field.

In the seventh inning things would totally fall apart for Jupiter as Dunedin scored 10 times sending 15 men to the plate. It was a frame in which the Hammerheads would probably like to forget as three errors, three walks, two hit batters and a passed ball made the inning seem to go on forever. The Blue Jays would only need three hits to score 10 times in the frame, one of them being a three-run home run off the bat of K.C. Hobson.

On a positive note Matt Junegel extended his hitting streak to 13 games thanks to a single with two outs in the ninth inning.

With the loss the Hammerheads split the series with Dunedin and finish the eight game homestand with a record of 2-6.

Jupiter will hit the road on Wednesday for a four game series with the Daytona Cubs. The Sharks will return to Roger Dean Stadium on Sunday as they will begin a five game homestand with a two game series the Fort Myers Miracle.
