Belanger has record night in big win

GLENS FALLS, NY -- Hugo Belanger set a new Adirondack team record for points in a game with seven points, scoring two goals and adding five assists to lead the Frostbite to a 9-4 win over the Roanoke Valley Vipers at the Glens Falls Civic Center. The win ends the Frostbite winless streak at five games.

Berry scored his first goal of the night with just 10 seconds left in the first period to tie the game at three after one period.

In the second, the Frostbite tallied three goals in a 2:44 span in the first 6:44 of the period to take a commanding 6-3 lead after 40 minutes. Berry completed his hat trick just 57 seconds into the third period. After Mike Wiggins scored for the Vipers to make it 7-4, Belanger and Blue Bennefield scored in the closing seven minutes to set the final.

Derek Gustafson picked up his ninth win of the season, making 22 saves. The Frostbite power-play unit, which entered the game scoreless in its last 16 man-advantage opportunities scored twice on six opportunities.

The Frostbite are back in action on Tuesday, hosting the Motor City Mechanics at 7:05 p.m. The first 1,000 fans in attendance receive a certificate for a free ice cream cone at Stewart's Shops. Tickets are available at the Glens Falls Civic Center Box Office or by calling (518) 798-0202.
