Frederick Keys News Release
Keys RHP Brandon Erbe worked six hitless innings and RF Arturo Rivas went 4-for-4 with two runs scored as the Keys one-hit Wilmington in a 4-1 win at Frawley Stadium Tuesday night. The win marked the fourth in a row for Frederick and the sixth in the last seven games.
With the win, Frederick (12-10) stays a game behind Potomac in the Northern Division.
The Keys used a two-out rally in the first inning to get the early lead.
Keys LF Jake Duncan walked and moved to third base on a single to right field by Rivas. 3B Ryan Finan walked to load the bases and DH Pete Maestrales singled home two runs to put the Keys up 2-0. They would never trail.
Erbe (2-0) struggled with control early but didn't allow a basehit in his six innings of work. He struck out six and retired 15 of the final 16 batters he faced.
The one-hitter marks the second time Frederick has limited an opponent to one hit. The other time was at home against Lynchburg in a seven inning game on April 17th.
The series continues Wednesday night at 6:35 p.m. Orioles relief pitcher Scott Williamson is due to work in relief for the Keys for a second time this week.
The Keys return home Monday, May 7th to face the Kinston Indians. It will be Kids Eat Free night at the ballpark. For tickets contact the Keys offices at 301-662-0013 or purchase online at frederickkeys.com.
