Bees Weekly: Bees Begin Nine Game Homestand

Rio Grande Valley Killer Bees News Release


The Rio Grande Valley Killer Bees return to the State Farm Arena this weekend as they open a nine-game homestand at the State Farm Arena. This week the Bees welcome the Texas Brahmas and the Tulsa Oilers to the Hive. The game against Tulsa will be the Bees first in over a year as the two teams did not faceoff last season.

Friday vs Texas Brahmas, 7:30 PM

Saturday vs Tulsa Oilers, 7:30 PM

State Farm Arena - Hidalgo, Texas

The Texas Brahmas and Tulsa Oilers split a Saturday/Sunday series with Tulsa earning the Saturday victory and Texas on Sunday. The victory on Sunday was the first of the season for Texas who became the last team in the Berry Conference to record a victory.

LAST WEEKS GAMES

Friday at Laredo Bucks, 4-3 Loss

The Rio Grande Valley Killer Bees (0-3-0) fell behind early to the Laredo Bucks (2-1-0) and were unable to complete a third period comeback falling 4-3 on Friday night. The Bees picked up a pair of goals from Jake Hauswirth and one from Aaron Lee but four second period goals by the Bucks anchored their victory.

Saturday at Laredo Bucks, 6-3 Win

The Rio Grande Valley Killer Bees (1-3-0) raced out to an early 3-0 lead in the first period and held on to defeat the Laredo Bucks (2-2-0) by a 6-3 final on Friday night. Zac Pearson helped pace the Bees by scoring the first two goals of the game. The victory was the first for Terry Ruskowski as Killer Bees head coach.

BEES NEED TO KNOW

. The Killer Bees have won their first game of the season against the Laredo Bucks for the second straight season.

. Terry Ruskowski earned his first victory as head coach on Saturday with the Bees win over the Bucks.

. The Killer Bees open their longest homestand of the season this weekend, nine games in the first 19 days of November.
