Omaha Beef News Release

Omaha, Nebraska - The Omaha Beef of United Indoor Football (UIF) will return home to the Omaha Civic Auditorium for a match-up with the Bloomington Extreme on Saturday. Kick-off is scheduled for 7:05 PM and it is the first home game for the Beef since April 22. This game marks the first of two meetings between the teams over the last eight weeks of the season.

The game is expected to be intense as both teams come into the game with 3-4 records and both will need wins as team's battle towards the playoffs. The Beef defense is allowing 37.3 points per game, which ranks 4th in the league. Omaha's defense has given up less than 35 points each of their last three games. In fact, the Beef defense has only allowed more than 35 points twice this season. By comparison, Bloomington has allowed more than 35, six times this season. Defensive backs Harold Clewis and Clint Brown have been dominating opposing receivers. Brown has compiled 5 interceptions, while Clewis has led the team in pass break-ups over the past few weeks. The defensive backfield only allowed 120 passing yards in the Beef victory over Rock River three weeks ago.

Offensively for the Beef, quarterback Chuck Wright seems to be improving with every week. Over the past three games, Wright has thrown for 11 touchdowns and only four interceptions. Last week was one of Wright's better performances of the year as he was 18-of 34 passing for 190 yards. He threw three touchdowns and one interception. A performer that has been consistently dominant this season has been running back RJ Rollins, who continues to lead the UIF in scoring with 14 touchdowns. The Beef offense is averaging 36.7 points per game, which ranks them 7th in the UIF.

Bloomington scored their most points of the season last week as they put up 59 on Peoria. The Extreme run a very balanced offensive attack as five different players scored a touchdown last week. Bloomington is scoring 40.1 points per game, which ranks 4th in the UIF. The Extreme are allowing 44.1 points per game, which ranks 8th in the league.

Beef Head Coach Robert Fuller says, "Bloomington is a much better football team then their record indicates and they are tough. They have a talented roster and have added guys this week so they will be ready for us. They also have a great coaching staff that knows how to maximize their talent so this should be a very exciting match up."

Saturday is "Military Night" and anyone with a valid Military ID gets two tickets for the price of one in Touchdown Alley. Individual game tickets still remain for all Beef home games and can be purchased by calling Jenny Cheney at the Omaha Beef Football office at 402-346-2333.
