Greyhounds announce trio of new players

Phil Alexander--Phil joins the Greyhounds after wrapping up his career at the University of Toledo after the 2004 season. Alexander a native of Chicago Heights, IL was a three-year starter for the Rockets at defensive end. Alexander posted a career year as a senior registering 53 tackles, 10.for loss and three sacks. In 2003 the defensive end was in on 21 stops and nine for loss as well as three sacks. As a sophomore Alexander recorded 38 tackles and three sacks. Alexander will be called upon to add a pass-rushing presence to the Hounds defensive line.

Ray Turner--Ray joins the Greyhounds to add defensive line depth to the team. Turner was a converted linebacker at Toledo and shined after making the switch to the defensive line. As a senior in 2003 Turner, a native of Clairton, PA recorded 50 tackles including 12 for loss and 2.5sacks.

Paul Dye--Paul Dye is the fifth Toledo Rocket to be added to the 2006 roster. Dye was a two-year starter at rover for the Rockets and in 2003 Dye recorded 38 tackles including five for loss. Dye, a native of Muskegon, MI also picked off one pass and recovered three fumbles. The former Rocket was in on 40 tackles as a junior and 17as a sophomore. Dye will be counted on to use his versatility to give the Hounds defense depth in the defensive backfield.
