Over 70 individuals were a part of the joint tryout held by both the Omaha Beef and Iowa Blackhawks. Of those 70 participants, 10 were signed by the Beef while several others are being considered for spots on the Blackhawks.
"I was really pleased with the turnout," said Beef Head Coach, James Kerwin. "Both the Beef and Blackhawk staffs were well integrated, displaying great unified effort and teamwork. From a player perspective, I know that there were a couple of guys out there that could really make a difference on either squad."
The Omaha Beef would like to thank all of the Blackhawk's staff for their organization and hard work throughout the weekend. The success of this event would not have been possible without their dedication and preparation. It was a joint effort that both organizations benefited from immensely.
