Beckford-Tseu Recalled by St. Louis Blues

Peoria, IL (April 2, 2006) - St. Louis Blues Sr. V.P. & General Manager Larry Pleau announced today that the club has recalled goaltender Chris Beckford-Tseu from its American Hockey League (AHL) affiliate, the Peoria Rivermen.

Beckford-Tseu, 21, has been recalled under emergency conditions to replace goaltender Patrick Lalime who was injured last night in Nashville. He will join the team for practice on Monday at St. Louis Mills at 11 a.m. He has appeared in 13 games for the Rivermen, posting a 4-4-1 record along with a 3.17 goals against average (GAA).

The 6-2, 201-pound netminder has skated in 19 games with the Alaska Aces of the ECHL, collecting a 16-1-2 record along with a 1.87 goals against average. He has been named Reebok Hockey ECHL Goaltender of the Week three times this season becoming only the fourth goaltender in league history to receive it three times in one season. He was also named the starter for the ECHL National Conference for the 2006 ECHL All-Star Game.

Lalime was re-examined today by Blues team doctor Rick Wright and will undergo an MRI later today. An update will be provided later in the day.
