2006 Calder Cup tickets on sale Monday

PORTLAND, ME- Today the Portland Pirates announced that individual playoff tickets for the 2006 Calder Cup Playoffs will go on Public Sale on Monday, April 3rd at 10:00a.m. at the Cumberland County Civic Center Box Office, Ticketmaster outlets and www.ticketmaster.com.

The Pirates have clinched home ice advantage in the first round of the playoffs and will play host to either the Manchester Monarchs or the Providence Bruins. The Pirates are in the midst of a record breaking season having recently eclipsed the franchise record for wins in a season, road wins in a season and tied the franchise record for points in a season at 104. The Pirates offensive output has increased by over 100 goals this season compared to last season and the new affiliation with the Mighty Ducks of Anaheim has put the Pirates in first place in the Atlantic Division since December 10, 2005.

The Pirates also announced their partnership with Pepsi who will present Pirates Playoff Hockey this spring. Through this partnership, Pepsi, one of the Pirates most active and longest tenured corporate sponsors, will leverage Pirates Playoff Hockey through branding, advertising, promotional opportunities and fan giveaways throughout the Pirates run for the Cup this spring.

The 2006 Calder Cup Playoffs will begin with the Division Semi-Finals, matching the first-place team against the fourth-place team and the second-place team against the third-place team in each division. The Division Finals will match the winners of each Division Semi-Final. These series winners advance to the Conference Finals, and those series winners will meet in the Calder Cup Finals. All series are a best-of-seven format.

The Pirates will face either Manchester or Providence in the first round of the playoffs. Although the entire schedule of the first round of the playoffs has not been determined, the Pirates first two playoff games will be on Thursday, April 20th (Game 1) and Saturday, April 22nd (Game 2). Both games will start at 7:05pm.

Beginning on Monday, fans can purchase any potential Pirates home playoff game they wish, beginning with the first game, Game "A" (Round 1, Home Game 1) to the last potential home playoff game, Game "P" (Round 4, Home Game 4). Tickets can be purchased in person or by phone (207-775-3458) at the Cumberland County Civic Center Box Office (open from 9:30am-5:30pm Monday-Saturday and Sundays when the Pirates play). Individual tickets prices will increase by $1 after each round of the playoffs.

Fans can save big over box offices prices with the Pirates group rates for the 2006 Calder Cup Playoffs. Group playoff tickets start at just $6, the full list of the Pirates group ticket options for the 2006 Calder Cup Playoffs are listed below:

Group ticket packages (Groups of 15 or more) will remain consistent throughout the playoffs.
Crow's Nest - $6 (save $2 per ticket)
Quarter Deck - $10 (save $3 per ticket)
Main Deck - $12 (save $7 per ticket)
Captains Deck - $16 (save $5 per ticket)

All ticket purchases are non-refundable unless the game is not played in which case refunds would be available at the original point of purchase (either the Cumberland County Civic Center or Ticketmaster). For example, if someone purchases a ticket to Game H and Game H (which would be the Pirates 7th game in round two), is not played this ticket would be refundable at the point of purchase (Cumberland County Civic Center/Ticketmaster).

Tickets for the 2006-07 season are on sale now. Pirates fans can lock-in a seat location for next season with a $50 per seat deposit. The Pirates also offer payment options that feature a five installment plan, allowing fans to pay for their season tickets over an extended period of time.
