Beavers Place Time Stauffer On Disabled List, Activate Mike Thompson

PORTLAND, Ore. - The Portland Beavers today placed right-handed pitcher Tim Stauffer on the disabled list with a sprained left ankle and activated right-handed pitcher Mike Thompson, who was optioned from San Diego on April 19.

Stauffer, 24, is 0-0 with an 11.88 ERA (11er, 8.1ip) in five relief appearances with Portland this season. In four seasons with the Beavers (2004-07), Stauffer is 16-20 with a 5.09 ERA in 60 appearances (53 starts).

In five relief appearances with the Padres to start the season, Thompson, 26, was 0-1 with a 7.84 ERA (9er, 10.1ip) in five games. In parts of two seasons with the Beavers (2005-06), Thompson is 10-3 with a 3.48 ERA over 22 appearances (all starts).

The Beavers' active roster remains at its 24-man limit
