Beauregard hat trick leads Danbury to 6-1 win over Elmira

ELMIRA, NY--David Beauregard scored a hat trick, Jeff Daw and Donny Grover each finished with four points and Jayme Platt saved 44 shots as the Trashers crushed Elmira 6-1 on Wednesday night at First Arena.

JM Daoust opened the scoring in the second as he barely fought a hard shot past Tyson Gajda at the 3:50 mark to give Danbury a 1-0 lead. Daw scored his 15th at 7:44 as he redirected a Grover drive past Gajda, followed by Beauregard's first of the night at 10:47 to give the Trashers a 3-0 lead. Elmira's lone goal was a power play tally by Kevin Cooper at the 15:03 mark.

Troy Smith scored his 3rd in four games as he planted a point shot at the 3:46 mark off a pass from Daw on the face off. Beauregard then scored the final two goals, including a power play goal at 17:11 from Grover and Daw, each with their fourth points of the night.

Jayme Platt stopped 44 of 45 shots, while Tyson Gajda saved 34 of 40 in a losing cause.

The Trashers will face Elmira on Friday night at 7:05, followed by a Saturday night showdown in Richmond before returning home to face Adirondack next Sunday.
