Benefits Children's Cancer Fund at Connecticut Children's Medical Center

Hartford, March 13, 2002 – The Hartford Wolf Pack's fifth annual "Beating the Odds" Casino Night, presented with the generous support of Foxwoods Resort Casino, will take place on the floor of the Hartford Civic Center Wednesday, March 20, from 5:00-10:00 PM. The Hartford Wolf Pack Community Foundation will donate the proceeds from this evening of fun and excitement to the Children's Cancer Fund at Connecticut Children's Medical Center (CCMC).

"The Wolf Pack Community Foundation's 'Beating the Odds' Casino Night is the culmination of all of our community-relations efforts throughout the season," Wolf Pack General Manager Al Coates said. "Management, coaches, players and their wives and girlfriends, CCMC volunteers, and the great people at Foxwoods Resort Casino are working together to build on the past success of the event."

For one night only, Foxwoods will dispatch its best table games and dealers to Hartford, to bring "The Wonder of it All" to the Civic Center. Tickets are available by calling the Wolf Pack at 860-246-PUCK (7825), and can be purchased at the door on the evening of the event.

Along with Foxwoods Resort Casino, high-level supporters of "Beating the Odds" Casino Night include: Northeast Utilities, Becker's Fine Jewelers, United Distillers & Vintners, Cummings & Lockwood, Manafort Brothers, and Hartford Financial Services Group. Providing additional support are: CIGNA HealthCare, WTIC-AM & FM, and NBC-30. Creative Graphic Services and Lithographics are supplying printing services.

The following fine restaurants will be serving complimentary delicacies: Bricco/Grant's - Apple-smoked, bacon-wrapped scallops; City Steam - Assorted appetizers; Fat Cat Café - Smoked chicken penne; Hartford Civic Center Coliseum Club - Pasta stations - Penne a la Vodka and Bowtie Pasta Alfredo; John Harvard's Brew House - Smoked tenderloin on bread and Four-brew Sampler; Michaele's Coffee & Tea - Coffee and desserts; No Fish Today - Mediterranean Fish Chowder and sesame-crusted yellowfin tuna; Spris - Pizza and cheese croquettes, assorted appetizers; Peppercorns - Orange ravioli and Lobster canapés; Trumbull Kitchen - Pork sandwiches; Vito's - Variety of pizzas; Troutbrook Brewery - Several different brews

United Distillers & Vintners, Budweiser and Coca-Cola will all be providing beverages.

The Silent Auction, with upbeat music in the background, will feature many items in four different categories: Home, Sports Memorabilia, Arts & Entertainment, Health & Beauty.

Most important of all, the thrill of authentic table games of Blackjack, Roulette and Craps, and the engaging personalities of Foxwoods' croupiers, will make it a night to remember. The Foxwoods dealers will gently guide patrons through the games of chance, and whether the guests win or lose, all proceeds go to the Children's Cancer Fund at Connecticut Children's Medical Center.
