
Bears Re-Assign Two Players to Eagles

WINDSOR, CO â The Colorado Eagles announced today the club has been assigned two (2) players from the Hershey Bears of the American Hockey League, the top developmental team for the Colorado Avalanche. Goaltender Tyler Weiman and left wing David Svagrovsky were assigned today and will arrive in Colorado this weekend Eagles Vice President/ Head Coach Chris Stewart made the announcement.
Weiman, 20, a Colorado Avalanche draft pick in 2002, played in one exhibition game for the Bears during the 2004 training camp. He played in Hershey's game against the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton last Saturday allowing two goals. Prior to this season's training camp, the Saskatoon, Saskatchewan native played major junior hockey for the Tri-City Americans in the Western Hockey League (WHL). In 2003-04, Weiman had his finest season as a junior posting career bests for wins (23), goals against average (2.66), and save percentage (.913). In the last two seasons, Weiman was the goaltender for 39 of Tri-City's 51 wins.
Svagrovsky, 19, an Avalanche draft pick in 2003, played in two exhibition games for the Bears in this year's training camp tallying one assist before coming to the Eagles. For the past two seasons, the Prague, Czech Republic native has played for the Seattle Thunderbirds also in the WHL. In 2002-03, Svagrovsky netted 42 points (17G, 25A) in just 68 games with the Thunderbirds. Svagrovsky is a left wing that will bring size and speed to the Eagles offensive unit.
"We are excited two have these two young, up and coming players in our camp," said Eagles Coach Chris Stewart. "Both players come to us highly touted and we look forward to helping these players develop and realize their dream of playing in the National Hockey League."
There are single-game tickets still available for the upcoming season. The Eagles open training camp on Monday, October 11 at the Budweiser Events Center. Training camp is open to the public. There will be two exhibition games on Friday, October 15 and Saturday, October 16 against the Tulsa Oilers before starting the regular season on the road at the Ford Center in Oklahoma City. The Eagles training camp will be open to the public next week. The first scrimmage will be on Monday, October 11 from 4-6 pm at the Budweiser Events Center and is open to all who able to attend. On Tuesday, October 12 doors will be open from 11:30-12:30 for practice. Wednesday, October 13 will be another 4:00 pm scrimmage. Thursday, October 14 doors will be open from 11:30-12:30 for practice.
