Hershey Bears News Release

The 21st head coach in club history steps behind the bench for his first regular season game as HERSHEY opens its 68th American Hockey League season in northeast Pennsylvania at 7:05 p.m. tonight.

Boudreau was named HERSHEY'S bench boss in July, but makes his BEARS debut this evening against a Penguins team that won their season debut on Wednesday 8-1 over Bridgeport. HERSHEY was 6-4-0-0 against Wilkes-Barre/Scranton a season ago.

Defensemen Dean Arsene and Martin Wilde are the only players on HERSHEY'S roster that played for the Chocolate and White in 2004-05. The BEARS also play the club's first game tonight as the new affiliate of the NHL's Washington Capitals.

Tonight's game can be heard on HERSHEY'S new flagship radio station, 100.1 FM WQIC. John Walton returns for his fourth season behind the microphone at 6:45 p.m. tonight with the pregame show. The game can be seen with audio through HersheyBears.com with the team's new B2 networks video feed. Tickets for Sunday's home opener are still available by calling 534-3911 or by visiting the GIANT Center box office.
