DES MOINES, IA - The Iowa Stars peppered Omaha Knights' goaltender Brent Krahn with 36 shots, but the Manitoba-born goaltender was up to the task, earning a 1-0 shutout victory over the hometown Iowa Stars.
Rookie forward Junior Lessard posted a team and franchise record seven shots in the contest. Goalie Dan Ellis was spectacular in goal, allowing just one of Omaha's 26 shots to sneak by him. The Knight's Craig MacDonald posted the lone marker, coming with his team on the power play.
NEXT GAME: The Iowa Stars take to the road for their first road contest on Saturday, October 15th when they travel to Peoria, IL. Saturday's 7:05 PM faceoff can be heard on AM 940. The Stars return home for their first Sunday afternoon game the following day. Sunday's contest between the Stars and visiting San Antonio Rampage begins at 5:05 PM.
