Hershey Bears News Release

Eric Perrin's goal at 14:21 of the third period gave the BEARS a 2-2 tie against the Bridgeport Sound Tigers, Saturday at the Arena at Harbor Yard. Each team earns a point as they remain tied atop the AHL's East Division with 32 points each. HERSHEY'S record stands at 13-6-4-2.

Brett Clark began the scoring for the BEARS at 10:02 of the first period. Mikhail Kuleshov was the lone assist on Clark's goal. In front of a mere 500 fans who braved the Nor'easter pummeling New England, Derek Bekar tied the score 1-1 with a goal for Bridgeport at 18:42 of the first stanza.

The Sound Tigers would take the lead in the second period when Eric Manlow would score a power-play goal. Bridgeport would go into the second intermission with a 2-1 lead.

Eric Perrin's clutch goal at 14:21 of the third period would tie the score at two. DJ Smith and Sheldon Keefe would assist on Perrin's seventh goal of the season. The BEARS had several opportunities to take the lead, but Bridgeport goaltender, Dieter Kochan denied 34 of 36 chances. At the other end of the ice, Peter Budaj made 30 saves on 32 Sound Tiger shots.

The BEARS return to action at GIANT Center, Sunday against the Syracuse Crunch as we celebrate Bruce Richardson Bobble Head night. Join us for all the action with the face off at 5:00 pm. John Walton will be live on BIG 92.7 with the pre-game show beginning at 4:40 pm.
