ORLANDO, Fla. - The Solar Bears earned three out of a possible four points with a road victory in South Carolina and a shootout loss on opening night against Florida.

The Orlando Solar Bears, along with VyStar Credit Union, have announced the launch of a co-branded debit card, available now for all VyStar Credit Union members.

Fans can get a Solar Bears debit card when they open a VyStar account with a minimum balance of $5 at any branch location. They can also apply for membership online at apply.vystarcu.org but will need to visit a branch to get a Solar Bears card. Current members can request a co-branded card by visiting a branch, calling 800-445-6289 or speaking to a VyChat representative at www.vystarcu.org.

Thursday, October 19 vs. Florida: 3-4 SOL

The Solar Bears were unable to hold on to a two-goal, second period lead on Thursday night, eventually falling to the Florida Everblades by a 4-3 score after a seven round shootout. Jaydon Dureau, Steve Jandric, and Luke Boka all scored for Orlando.

Saturday, October 21 at South Carolina: 6-3 W

Forward Steve Jardric recorded two power play goals and one assist, while Pat Newell tallied three helpers in the Solar Bears first win of the 2023-24 season Saturday night. Goaltender Brandon Halverson stole the show in the middle period, making 20 saves on 22 Stingrays shots. Rookie forward Tanner Dickinson recorded his first professional goal and point in the first period. Luke Boka continued his hot start with his second goal in as many games.

BITES:

Tanner Dickinson recorded his first professional point on his first professional goal Saturday night at South Carolina.

All three goals scored this season by Steve Jandric have come on the power play.

The Solar Bears scored a season-high six goals in Saturday night's 6-3 win in South Carolina. The last time the Solar Bears scored 6+ goals in a road game was also against South Carolina. (3-5-23, 7-2 W at SC).
