Beacons Add To Roster

Port Huron, MI – The Port Huron Beacons of the United Hockey League (UHL) announce the addition of two players to the 2003-2004 roster.

Joe Sewell comes to the Beacons after playing with the Toledo Storm and Augusta Lynx of the ECHL (East Coast Hockey League). This native of Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario tallied five goals and four assists for a total of nine points in 28 games combined between the two teams. The 22 year-old right-winger also has a total of 73 penalty minutes earned this season. Sewell did play nine games with the Fort Wayne Komets back in the 2000-2001 season. He was in the line up on Wednesday when the Beacons hosted the Kalamazoo Wings where he earned his first Beacon point as he assisted on Casey Harris goal at 3:42 of the third period.

Jimi St. John comes to the Beacons after playing for the Fort Wayne Komets and Columbus Stars of the UHL. The native of Windsor, Ontario has played six games this season combined between the two clubs. He has a record of 2-3-1 with a 3.52 goals against average and a 0.855 save percentage. St. John is currently on a player tryout contract with the Beacons while Kory Cooper recovers on injured reserve.
