In Brief

· 12/10: Beacons Shutout the Jackals

The Jackals came into the game having lost the night prior to the Frostbite of Adirondack. They would continue their struggles as the Beacons managed to shut down the leagues leading scorer in Greg Koehler. Both teams were scoreless heading into the third period when at 3:15 of the period David Beauregard (18) scored on the power-play to give the Beacons the lead and the eventual game winning goal. Stu Dunn was outstanding in net stopping all 25 shots he faced on his way to his first shutout of the season, and Beacons first shutout of the season. Other Beacons netting points were Jason Firth, one assist (1) and Aaron Brand had one assist (18).

· 12/11: Another Beacon Shutout

It was another defensive battle, as both teams were scoreless in regulation. Both goalies were outstanding making game saving saves in the final minutes of the third period. Stu Dunn finished with 28 saves and his second shutout in as many days and the Mallards Jeff Reynaert made 19 saves. Both teams exchanged goals in the first round of the shootout and then it was Gabriel Proulx who notched the game winner in the final attempt of the 5th round of the shootout. With these two consecutive shutouts the Beacons and Stu Dunn had not allowed a goal in 152:15 spanning over two games and a period and a half...12/5 at 12:15 of the 2nd period vs. Danbury to 12/11 vs. Quad City.

· 12/12: Shutout Streak Ends

Stu Dunn's shutout streak ended at 14:31 of the first period. Thus ending his and the teams shutout streak at 166:46 dating from 12/5 @ Danbury to 12/12 vs. the Mallards. After that first goal was scored the Mallards did not let up. They went on to score three goals in the second and eventually won the game 4-3. Scoring for the Beacons was, Joey Sewell (9), Aaron Brand (7) and Gabriel Proulx (3). Others netting assists were, Rico Fatticci (7), David Beauregard (9) and Jason Firth (2).

Upcoming Games: Week Ten; Four Game Week

· 12/15: Third Meeting with the Mallards in Five Days

The Beacons face the Mallards again on Wednesday at the Mark of the Quad Cities. This is the fourth meeting of the season with the Mallards leading the season series 2-0-1. FACE-OFF: 7:00p.m.

· 12/17: Third Meeting with the IceHogs

The Beacons face the IceHogs on Friday at McMorran Arena; the third meeting of the season. The Hogs lead the season series 2-0-0. FACE-OFF: 7:05p.m.

· 12/18: Thanksgiving Rematch

After losing to the Fury Thanksgiving night. The Beacons look for revenge as they will be in Muskegon Saturday night. FACE-OFF: 7:30p.m.

· 12/19: Opening Weekend Rematch

The Beacons face the RiverDogs for the first time since opening weekend. Having spilt the first two games of the season the Beacons look to take the season series lead with a win Sunday afternoon. FACE-OFF: 5:05p.m.

Brand-O-Meter

Aaron Brand sits in 5th on the Beacons all-time point list this weekend with 1g and 1a. Brand now has 37 goals, 43 assists for 80 points in 91 games played. Brand is closing in on 4th place, sitting only 5 points behind John Vary.

Weekly Nominees

Player of the Week

The Beacons nominate David Beauregard as the Sher Wood Player of the week. Beauregard finished the week with 2 points in three games played. Beauregard was -1 for the week and tallied 1 goal and 1 assist on 13 shots for the weekend's action including 1 PPG.

Goaltender of the Week

The Beacons nominate Stu Dunn as the Southern Sports Supply UHL Goaltender of the Week. Dunn finished the week 2-1-0 in 180 minutes played with 71 saves on 75 shots for a .947 SV% and a 1.33 GAA. Dunn recorded 166:46 minutes of shutout hockey all together, dated back to 12:15 of the second period @ Danbury on 12/5 to 14:31 in the first period vs. Quad City on 12/12.

Join Beacons play-by-play announcer, Dennis Stuckey along with Head Coach, Rick Adduono for in depth analysis of the weekends action and questions from fans of all ages. Select Beacon players will also be appearing throughout the season. Of course if you cannot make it down to the Brass Rail you can always tune into AM 1450 and AM 1590, also your home for hockey action all year long both home and away.
