BB&T Fantasy Fan Winner Announced

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. (AUGUST 24, 2012) - The Winston-Salem Dash and BB&T are proud to announce that Michael Shafit of Winston-Salem is the 2012 BB&T Fantasy Fan sweepstakes winner.
Shafit will be an honorary member of the team Tuesday at 7:00 p.m. when the Dash take on the Lynchburg Hillcats. BB&T Ballpark, the Dash's beautiful stadium, will be renamed Michael Shafit Ballpark for the day.
In addition to this special honor, Shafit will receive his own Dash uniform, take batting practice with the team and have his own locker in the Dash's clubhouse. Prior to the game, Shafit will deliver the lineup card to home plate during the umpire meeting and throw the ceremonial first pitch. He will then take the field with the Dash and be introduced over the stadium's public address system.
Shafit and 19 of his friends will enjoy the rest of the game from the dugout suite, which is located just a few feet from the Dash's dugout on the first-base side. Fans throughout Michael Shafit Ballpark will be able to see him on the cover of the Dash's PlayBall! program, too.
"The goal of the BB&T Fantasy Fan sweepstakes was to provide a unique experience that surpassed the fans' wildest dreams. I think we've accomplished that and are excited to present this experience to Michael," said Pete Zifchak, BB&T Senior Vice President Corporate Sports Marketing & Event Planning.
The BB&T Fantasy Fan sweepstakes ran from May through July, and a few hundred Dash fans from around the Triad registered for their chance to win through the Dash's website.
The Dash open their final homestand of the season at BB&T Ballpark tonight at 7 against the Myrtle Beach Pelicans in a battle for first place.
