
Baysox clinch the season-series win with their 4th straight win over Portland

(Portland, ME) - The Bowie Baysox (19-16) used a 5-run third inning off Dustin Richardson (3-3) to beat the Portland Sea Dogs 7-3 on a Fireworks' Friday night at Hadlock Field.
The loss for Portland snapped their 3-game winning streak and dropped their overall record to 20-14. Bowie clinched the season series against the Sea Dogs - they have won all four meetings.
Chris Tillman (3-0) beat Portland and Richardson for the second time in 10 days. The 20-year old righty hurled six scoreless innings on one hit, three walks and six strikeouts. Andrew Pinckney's second-inning single was the lone hit off Tillman.
Richardson suffered his third loss in four starts, surrendering eight runs on six hits - both season highs. The Kansas native left the game after five innings with Bowie leading 6-0.
Portland scored twice in the seventh inning on a two-out, 2-run double by Ryan Khoury. Pinckney added a run-scoring single in the ninth inning with two outs.
The Baysox sent eight men to the plate off Richardson in the second inning. Brian Peterson led off the inning with a single and Kennard Jones drew a walk. After a ground out by Travis Brown, the Baysox had a hit of every kind to drive in a run. Jonathan Tucker had a 2-run triple, Carlos Rojas an RBI single, Lou Montanez a run-scoring double and Jeff Nettles blasted a solo homer.
Bowie added a single run in the fourth inning when Brown hit into a double-play - Ryan Finan singled home the final run with a single in the seventh inning.
The Sea Dogs drop to 3-2 on their 7-game homestand and host the Bowie Baysox on Saturday afternoon at 1:00 PM. RHP Justin Masterson (1-2, 3.25) will make his seventh start of the season with RHP Kyle Schmidt (0-0, 3.38) making his second appearance for Bowie.
Notes...Zach Daeges went 1-for-3 and extended his career-high hitting streak to 10 straight games...Portland has scored 67 of their 165 runs with two outs (40 percent)...Pinckney and Aaron Bates share the team lead in RBI with 21.
