BayHawks win Eighth Straight

ERIE-The NBA Development League Erie BayHawks (19-16) extended their winning streak to eight straight games with a 97 -95 win over the Dakota Wizards (20-14) at the Tullio Arena. The BayHawks victory was capped when forward Jackie Manuel saw an opening and slashed through the paint to lay in a three foot jumper.
Erie led by as many as 18 but let the lead slip away being out shot by the Wizards 30-18 in the third quarter. Ivan Harris and Erik Daniels led all BayHawks scorers with 24 points each. Daniels fell 1 rebound short of a triple-double, notching a double-double adding 11 assists to the 24 point performance.
Maureece Rice chipped in 21 points and Manuel added a double-double with 10 points, including the winner and 13 boards.
Maurice Baker led all Wizard scorers with 19 points, with will Frisby adding 18 and Blake Ahern chipping in with 15. The Wizards newest addition Romel Beck had a strong debut knocking down 4 of 8 from the field and adding 6 free throws for a total of 15 points on the night.
The BayHawks home stand will continue Friday night with a 7:00 PM tip off versus the Rio Grande Valley Vipers. The game will be broadcast live on the Image Sports Network and streamed via the NBA Futurecast on the Web with a link from www.ErieBayHawks.com.
