Pearl, MS - In the second game of a six game series, the Mississippi Braves couldn't hold on to an early 1-0 lead and fell short against the Mobile BayBears by the final score of 7-5. The game started forty-two minutes late due to a rain delay. The bright spot for the Braves didn't come until the 9th inning when Mauro Gomez crushed a three-run home run, but in the end, it wasn't enough to over come a 7-2 deficit entering the 9th.
For the second night in a row, the M-Braves jumped out to the early 1-0 lead. With two outs, Concepcion Rodriguez was hit by a pitch to take first base. He would take second base on a steal. Juan Gonzalez then came up to the plate and singled up the middle to score Rodriguez to break the early stale mate.

For Gomez, the homer was his first since May 24th. Donell Linares was the next batter and he grounded out to end the game. Mobile won with the final score of 7-5.
