MOBILE, Ala. - Javier Brito smashed an RBI double and a two-run homerun while starter Brooks Brown pitched six scoreless innings, leading the Mobile BayBears (36-51, 7-10) to 7-4 victory over the Jacksonville Suns (41-46, 8-9) in front of 5,736 at Hank Aaron Stadium on the Fourth of July.

The Suns now lead the season series against Mobile seven games to four.

Mobile opened the scoring in the first inning on a Cody White wild pitch, before a John Hester two-run triple later scored Chris Rahl and Cesar Nicolas for a 3-0 lead.

The BayBears scored twice more in the third inning with RBI doubles from Javier Brito and John Hester, increasing the lead to 5-0. Brito's two-run homerun in the fourth inning opened a 7-0 lead.

White left after allowing seven runs and nine hits over four innings with two walks and three strikeouts.

The Suns struggled against Mobile starter Brooks Brown, as the Statesboro, Ga. native allowed only three hits over six scoreless innings with three walks and six strikeouts.

Jacksonville mounted a rally in the eighth inning against BayBears reliever Forrest Cory, starting on a Shane Justis leadoff homerun to cut the Mobile lead to 7-1. Lucas May later doubled home Jamie Hoffmann for a 7-2 score. Russell Mitchell's double later scored Mark Bellhorn and May for a 7-4 score.

With one out the Suns put two men on base with the tying run at the plate in the ninth inning against reliever Vince Bongiovanni, before a fly out and groundout ended the comeback bid.

Brown (5-9) picked up the win for Mobile while White (3-2) fell in the loss for Jacksonville. Bongiovanni (2) saved the game for Mobile after an inning and a third of relief.
