
Bay FC Announces Roster Ahead of Inaugural NWSL Season

San Francisco - Bay FC, the Bay Area's new women's professional soccer franchise in the National Women's Soccer League (NWSL), today announced their roster ahead of their inaugural season. Bay FC kicks off their 2024 campaign with a road match against Angel City FC on Sunday, March 17, at 4:30 p.m. (Pacific).
Bay FC enters their first NWSL campaign with six players on their roster designated as internationals: Deyna Castellanos (Venezuela), Princess (Ghana), Jen Beattie (Scotland), Asisat Oshoala (Nigeria), Racheal Kundananji (Zambia) and Lysianne Proulx (Canada). Kundananji was the first player from Zambia to sign an NWSL contract.
The club has also signed four of its 2024 NWSL Draft picks. No. 2 overall pick Savy King, the eighth pick overall Maya Doms, Jamie Shepherd, who was the 30th overall pick in the draft, and the 34th overall pick Caroline Conti. In addition, Bay FC have added goalkeeper Emmie Allen, who joined the team during preseason training camp as a trialist. Allen, Conti, Doms and Shepherd are all under contract for the 2024 season with options for the 2025 campaign.
In total Bay FC have 24 active players on their roster to open the season. Goalkeeper Melissa Lowder is on season-ending injury (SEI) for the 2024 season and will not count toward the team's roster limit. The current roster has 13 players who have at least one season of NWSL experience and in total 20 players on the roster who have played professionally either in the United States or abroad.
Bay FC will play their first home game at PayPal Park on Saturday, March 30, against the Houston Dash. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. (Pacific) with tickets available for purchase at www.bayfc.com/tickets.
