Long Island Ducks News Release

(Central Islip, N.Y.) - The Long Island Ducks today announced that Citibank Park will be the site of the third annual "Believin' Again" Baseball Legends Game. The game will be played on Saturday, September 10 with all proceeds benefiting Quality Services for the Autism Community.

"This is a great game to have at our ballpark," says Ducks co-owner/coach Bud Harrelson. "Not only will fans get to see a great old-timers game, but they will also help benefit the autistic community."

In past games, 1969 Miracle Mets team members Harrelson, Art Shamsky, Jerry Grote, Ed Kranepool, and Ron Swoboda, along with standouts Lee Smith and Joe Pignatano all participated.

Starting at 1 p.m., there will be a free children's clinic courtesy of Ferro, Kuba, Bloom, Mangano, Gacovino and Lake PC that will run approximately three hours. Participants in the Legends game will be instructing the kids on the finer points of baseball. Space is limited to the first 200 youths, so call (516) 625-0091 to sign up now. Those in attendance can also watch the teams take batting practice at 5 p.m.

Tickets to the event are $ 10 and can be purchased by calling (516) 625-0091. There will also be a VIP party held the night before the game, September 9, at the Courtyard Marriott, in Ronkonkoma, N.Y. starting at 5:30 pm. Tickets are $45 and can also be purchased by calling (516) 625-0091.

The 2004 Atlantic League champion Long Island Ducks' wide-reaching involvement in the community has been growing since the team's inception in 2000. For further information, please visit www.liducks.com or call the public relations department at (631) 940-3825.
