
Baseball, Fireworks, Marines And More On Legends Homestand

South Atlantic League baseball, the U.S. Marines, the Zooperstars, fireworks and much more will be found at Applebee's Park during the Lexington Legends next homestand, which opens Wednesday night. SAL Player of the Week J.D. Martinez will lead the Legends against the Hickory Crawdads, and fans of all ages will find plenty of fun at the ballpark in addition to baseball.
"With back to back Fireworks nights AND the ZOOperstars, there is no doubt that we are in the heart of the summer baseball season," said Legends box office manager David Barry. The schedule:
Wednesday, July 14 -Wednesday night is Ladies Night, sponsored by Sun Tan City. Sun Tan City Club Members can buy one ticket, get one free upon presentation of their Sun Club Pass. Game time is 7:05 p.m.
Thursday, July 15 - It's another "Thirsty Thursday" at Applebee's Park. Fans can enjoy $1 beer or $1 Pepsi products through the seventh inning. Sponsored by Z-rock 103 and Kentucky Lottery. Game time is 7:05 p.m.
Friday, July 16 - Enjoy a great fireworks show after the game, sponsored by ADI. Friday is also Bluegrass State Games Celebration of Athletes Night, sponsored by Bluegrass State Games and ABC 36, and it's Fritos Family Friday. Game time is 7:05 p.m.
Saturday, July 17 - Fans can salute the U.S. Marines, enjoy the entertainment by one of the most popular acts on the baseball circuit, and top off the evening with another great fireworks show. Saturday is Marine Night, sponsored by the United States Marine Corps. The Legends will wear special camouflage jerseys. Fans who present military identification can buy one ticket, get one free. Also, the Zooperstars are back, sponsored by LBX! "Cow" Ripken Jr., Ken Giraffey, Jr., Harry Canary, Alex Frogriguez and other characters are great fan favorites. ADI sponsors fireworks after the game. Game time is 7:05 p.m.
Sunday, July 18 - Sunday is Jewish Heritage Day at Applebee's Park. And as always, it's JIF Kids Club Sunday. Kids age 12 and under run the bases after the game. Game time is 2:05 p.m.
