Kreke Heads to Myrtle Beach

The Rome Braves announce the infielder Jordan Kreke has been sent to the Myrtle Beach Pelicans of the Carolina League. Kreke is hitting .248, leads the team in doubles and is second with 32 RBI. Rome receives infielder Joe Leonard from Danville. In ten games, Leonard is hitting .278 with one home run and five RBI in Appalachian League play. He was the Atlanta Braves third round pick this past June and played college baseball at the University of Pittsburgh.

Left-handed pitcher Matt Fouch has been placed on the military leave list to fulfill his military commitment. After joining the club on July third, Fouch pitched in four games and was 0-0 with a 0.00 ERA. He has three strikeouts in five innings pitched with one save.

Rome begins a five game series at Hagerstown before returning to Rome on July 20th to face the Lexington Legends.
