Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins News Release

WILKES-BARRE, Pa. - The Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins announced today that they have signed forward Chris Barton to a professional tryout agreement (PTO).

Barton, 25, was signed to a PTO by Wilkes-Barre/Scranton earlier this season on Jan. 12 and appeared in two games for the Penguins.

The second-year center has registered 21 points (11G-10A) and four penalty minutes in 22 games with the Wheeling Nailers. Despite appearing in only half of the Nailers' 44 games played this season, Barton is second on the team in goal scoring (11) and fourth in points (21).

The native of Calgary, Alberta was named to the ECHL All-Rookie Team last season as he ranked first on the team with 29 goals and 60 points over 69 games. He also added 31 assists - the second-highest total on the squad.

The Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins host the Manchester Monarchs on Friday, Feb. 1 at 7:05PM. Fans can take advantage of the TK Ticket Deal, which includes two blue zone seats to Friday night's contest (expected to be Kostopoulos' first for the Penguins at the arena in eight years) for just $29.

This deal is available only through the Penguins ticket offices by calling 570-208-7367.
