
Admirals Sign Forward Brayden Irwin to PTO

NORFOLK - The Norfolk Admirals have signed forward Brayden Irwin to a Professional Tryout Contract (PTO).
Irwin, a 6-foot-5, 205-pound forward, has appeared in 37 games with the ECHL's Florida Everblades this season, scoring 14 goals and 29 points. The third-year pro had an especially successful month of January, posting nine goals and 16 points in 12 games with Florida. In 74 career ECHL games between the Everblades and Reading Royals, Irwin has scored 31 goals and 60 points. Irwin has played in 46 career American Hockey League games with the Toronto Marlies, scoring seven goals and 15 points.
A 25-year-old native of Toronto, Ontario, Irwin made his professional debut with the NHL's Toronto Maple Leafs following the conclusion of his collegiate career in 2009-10. In two games with the Maple Leafs, Irwin posted two penalty minutes.
Irwin played collegiate hockey at the University of Vermont. In 144 career collegiate games with the Catamounts, Irwin netted 38 goals and 82 points. An undrafted forward, Irwin originally signed a two-year contract with the Toronto Maple Leafs.
The Admirals have two road games this weekend as they visit the Adirondack Phantoms tonight at 7:00 p.m. before squaring off against the Bridgeport Sound Tigers tomorrow at 7:00 p.m. All games can be heard on 102.1-FM, 1490-AM or 1021TheGame.com. You may also watch at AHLLive.com.
The next home action for the Admirals takes place next Friday and Saturday, February 8th and 9th, against the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins. The second Military Appreciation Night, presented by USAA, takes place on Friday, February 8th.
