Birmingham Barons News Release

HOOVER, Ala. -Regions Park, the home of the Birmingham Barons since 1988, is set to welcome its 6 millionth Barons fan this Saturday, May 10, for Birmingham's 7:05 pm contest with the West Tenn Diamond Jaxx. To mark the occasion, the Barons are hosing "6 Million Saturday."

The stadium is just 128 fans away from the milestone, and the lucky fan will be welcomed with a party atmosphere when he or she enters the gates. The fan will get free Barons merchandise, memorabilia autographed by the team, season tickets for the rest of the year, and a prize pack from over 30 Barons sponsors that includes free and discounted food and entertainment, free hotel stays, and more. He or she will also get to throw a ceremonial first pitch before the game and have the chance to lead the crowd in the singing of "Take Me Out To The Ballgame" during the seventh-inning stretch.

Because it is a "6 Million Saturday", the Barons will also pay homage to the popular 1970s television show "The Six Million Dollar Man" that starred Lee Majors. Any male or female fan named "Lee" or "Majors" will get into the game for free with a valid photo ID. Also, any military personnel with the rank of "Major" will get into the game for no cost with a valid military ID.

Any fan that brings six million dollars to the game will get in for free as well.

The Barons have played their home games at Regions Park, formerly known as Hoover Metropolitan Stadium, since moving from historic Rickwood Field in 1988. Since that time, the Barons have become the only Double-A team in the country to have drawn over 250,000 fans each of those 20 seasons.
