Jackson Generals News Release
(Jackson, TN) May 8th- Mississippi overcame a 5-0 deficit after one inning as the Braves went on to defeat the West Tenn Diamond Jaxx 9-7 in game four of the five game series from Pringles Park in Jackson. Despite the loss, the Diamond Jaxx remain one game behind Huntsville in the Northern Division.
Kala Ka'Aihue hit his first home run in Double-A ball and finished the night with four RBI's to help lead the Braves to the win. J.C. Boscan, who came into the night hitting just .141 on the season, had three hits and three RBI's to help spur a nine run, eleven hit attack. Brad Nelson (1-0) got the win in a spot start for the Braves, despite giving up six runs on eleven hits in five innings of work. Mike Nix gave up a run in the ninth inning but got his first save of the season.
Justin Thomas suffered the loss for the Diamond Jaxx, dropping his record to 1-3 on the season. Thomas allowed seven runs (six earned) on six hits with six walks and eight strikeouts in just 4 1/3 innings of work. Adam Moore and Marshall Hubbard had two hits and two RBI's each to lead the Diamond Jaxx attack. Prentice Redman, Mike Saunders, Johan Limonta and Jeffrey Dominguez had two hits each to highlight a fifteen hit attack.
The rubber game of the five game series is set for 7:05 CDT on Friday night. Right-hander Ryan Ketchner (2-0 5.40) gets the start for the Diamond Jaxx. The Braves will counter with righty Dustin Evans (1-5 8.36).
