
Barons Beat Blue Wahoos in Extras on Saturday Night

The Birmingham Barons defeated the Pensacola Blue Wahoos 10-9 in walk-off fashion in the 11th inning.
RHP Jonathan Cannon made his Double-A debut, starting the game for the Barons. Cannon managed three strikeouts in four innings pitched, allowing three runs, two of which were earned.
RHP Tristan Stivors also made his Double-A debut. Stivors appeared in the ninth and tenth innings. Stivors struck out two in his debut, but was also awarded a blown save due to letting up the game-tying run in the ninth inning.
The Barons' pitching staff combined for 11 strikeouts, including three from LHP Gil Luna across the eighth and ninth innings.
RHP Nick Gallagher earned his first win of the season. Gallagher appeared in the 11th inning, closing out the Blue Wahoos with a strikeout.
Xavier Fernandez shined on his 28th birthday, going 4-5 from the plate with a double, home run, RBI, and two runs.
Jose Rodriguez added a home run of his own as he went 3-6 from the plate with a double, three RBI, and three runs.
Bryan Ramos, Alsander Womack, and Luis Mieses each recorded two hits. The Barons connected for 17 hits compared to Pensacola's 12 hits.
Birmingham moves to 4-9 in the second half of the season, and looks to clinch their third series win of the season on Sunday.
