Barnstormers Training Camp Returns to Des Moines

DES MOINES, IA. - Iowa Barnstormers Vice President and Chief Operating Officer John Pettit along with Head Coach Joe Brannen unveiled plans today regarding the team's 2016 training camp. This season, the Iowa Barnstormers will be holding their 2-week training camp in Des Moines, Iowa at the Game Ready Training Center. Training Camp officially opens February 1 when 40 players from around the country will work to earn a spot on the Barnstormers 2016 roster.

Throughout the Iowa Barnstormers Training Camp, team practices will take place daily at 8:00 a.m. at the Game Ready Training Center (3217 NW Prairie Lane, Des Moines, IA 50313). Training Camp practices are open to the general public and all media. The team's full practice schedule is attached.

The team will travel to Cedar Rapids, Iowa on Saturday, February 12 to face off against in-state rivals the Titans in a pre-season matchup. The pre-season game will kick off at 7:05 p.m. at the U.S. Cellular Center.

In addition to practices, the Barnstormers will engage in several community events. Fans can meet members of the 2016 Training Camp roster for the first time on Tuesday, February 2 at Montana Mike's in Newton from 5:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. The team will be helping to raise money for the training of the Newton Police Department's new K9 Officer, Smokey.
