Lancaster Stormers News Release
LANCASTER, Pa.-It's getting even more affordable to bring your kids to the ballpark.
The Lancaster Barnstormers today announced three special "Kids Eat Free" days this month. All children 12 and under will receive a voucher good for a free hot dog, bag of chips and 12 oz. drink. The promotion will take place on Sunday, May 17, Sunday, May 24 and Memorial Day, Monday, May 25.
"Kids Eat Free" is in addition to the Barnstormers popular "Kids For Free" program, which provides free admission to children 12 and under who wear a youth athletic league uniform to the ballpark. It's also scheduled for a game (May 17) that is part of the Barnstormers award-winning reading program, which rewards students who read books outside of class with free baseball tickets.
"We expect thousands of kids to visit the ballpark over the next two weekends," Barnstormers general manager Vince Bulik said. "This program should give parents a little help so they can save their money for ice cream, cotton candy and rides on Home Run Harbor-the things here we know kids really love."
Additional promotions for the weekends include post-game fireworks on May 15, 16 and 23 and a series of giveaways on Memorial Day weekend: visors on May 22 (sponsored by Central Penn Nursing), green tote bags on May 23 (sponsored by Full Circle Recycling) and Barnstormers team card sets on May 24.
May 15 is also the annual Relay for Life Night at Clipper Magazine Stadium, with the proceeds of nearly 2,000 ticket sales going to benefit the American Cancer Society and several area Relay for Life events.
The Barnstormers and Rep. John Bear are again teaming up to honor Lancaster County veterans on May 22 with a special pre-game ceremony. Rep. Bear provided free tickets for nearly 500 veterans and a guest, which sold out in record time. The Barnstormers are offering additional tickets to veterans who missed out on the initial offering from Rep. Bear's office at an additional discount.
Tickets to the next two weekends are available online at www.LancasterBarnstormers.com, in person at the Clipper Magazine Stadium box office or by calling (717) 509-HITS.
