The Lancaster Community will have an opportunity to salute local heroes Temar Boggs, Chris Garcia and Lt. Andre Kelley this Saturday night, September 7th at Clipper Magazine Stadium as the Barnstormers host the Southern Maryland Blue Crabs.

Teenagers Temar Boggs and Chris Garcia created their own search party once they learned of a missing young Lancaster girl from their neighborhood. They spotted a suspicious vehicle and followed it on their bicycles until the car stopped and the girl was released. Temar carried the girl to her grandmother's home several blocks away. These two young men serve as tremendous examples of quick thinking selfless citizens whose actions have resulted in heroism.

On February 18th, Lt. Andre Kelley and two other Lancaster firefighters rushed into a fire that was rapidly growing out of control. Kelley became trapped in the burning building and suffered severe burns on over 40% of his body. He spent months at Crozier Medical Center and has endured multiple skin grafts. Lt. Kelley exemplifies the best of our first responders, risking his life to save others.

Boggs and Garcia will throw the ceremonial "First Pitches" before the game on Saturday. Lt. Kelley's children, Ajanae and Andre Kelley Jr. along with Lt. Kelley will be honored during the seventh inning. The Barnstormers have reserved a seat in Lt. Kelley's name since Opening Night back on April 18th. On Saturday night, Kelley will have his first opportunity to watch the Barnstormers game from his seat after he is honored in the seventh inning. The Barnstormers, in conjunction with the strong community of Lancaster Firefighters, raised approximately $8,000 to support the Lt. Andre Kelley Fund on Opening Day. On Saturday Night, the Barnstormers will accept donations and direct the proceeds of the Barnstormers Prize Wheel to college funds that have been established for Temar Boggs and Chris Garcia.

"The Barnstormers are proud to give Temar, Chris and Lt. Kelley the recognition that they deserve. These individuals have put themselves in harm's way to help others and to save lives in our hometown. I can't wait to hear the cheer of the fans on Saturday night when our heroes take the mound and are introduced," said Tony DeMarco, Vice-President of Fan Experience.

The Lancaster Barnstormers are in their ninth season as a member of the Atlantic League of Professional Baseball. Home games are played at Clipper Magazine Stadium in downtown Lancaster, Pennsylvania. Please call 717.509.HITS (4487) or visit LancasterBarnstormers.com for more information.
