Barnstormers Sign Northern Iowa Panther

DES MOINES - The Iowa Barnstormers have signed wide receiver Deion McShane to the 2024 roster, Head Coach Dave Mogensen announced today.

McShane (5-10, 175, University of Northern Iowa) joins the Iowa Barnstormers for his rookie season in the Indoor Football League (IFL). Collegiately, McShane spent five seasons at the University of Northern Iowa appearing in 52 games with the Panthers and collecting 149 receptions for 1,931 yards and seven touchdowns. McShane also collected numerous accolades during his time as a Panther including All-MVFC All-Newcomer Team and HERO Sports Freshman All-American during his freshman season, honorable mention for the MVFC All-Conference Team and Honor Roll recognition during his junior season, and he was named to the Phil Steele MVFC Preseason Fourth Team Offense and Fourth Team Special Teams during his senior season.

Following his collegiate career, McShane earned an invitation to the New York Giants Rookie Minicamp.

"Deion may be known by our fans as he starred at UNI parlaying great success there into an NFL opportunity with the NY Giants," said Coach Mogensen. "He is an explosive wide receiver who is a threat to take a play the distance at any time. We think Deion is going to be a big weapon here in the IFL and will continue to garner looks from higher leagues."

Determined to make it to the next level, McShane is joining the Iowa Barnstormers to continue his success on the field and stay ready for any opportunities that come his way.

"I signed with the Barnstormers to prove to doubters and myself that I am great and deserve opportunities at a higher level," said McShane. "From here on out it's grind time."

McShane will enter the Iowa Barnstormers 2024 Training Camp in the spring.
