Barnstormers Sign Defensive Tackle

DES MOINES - The Iowa Barnstormers have signed defensive lineman Mike Boykin to the 2022 roster, Head Coach Dave Mogensen announced today.
Boykin (6-6, 290, Louisville) joins the Iowa Barnstormers for his for his first season in the Indoor Football League (IFL). Collegiately, Boykin began his career at Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College where he appeared in six games collecting 15 tackles before transferring to the University of Louisville. Boykin spent one season with the Cardinals where he appeared in ten games and collected nine tackles before moving on to brief stints with tennessee State University and the University of North Alabama.
Last year, Boykin earned workouts with the Ravens and the Bears.
"Mike is a uniquely athletic man for a guy of his size," said Head Coach Dave Mogensen. "He had workouts for multiple NFL teams last fall, we expect him to be on NFL and CFL radars and we are excited to see what he does in the IFL."
Boykin will join the Iowa Barnstormers 2022 Training Camp in March.
