Barnstormers Sign Cyclone

DES MOINES - The Iowa Barnstormers have signed wide receiver Darren Wilson to the 2024 roster, Head Coach Dave Mogensen announced today.

Wilson (6-3, 210, Iowa State) joins the Iowa Barnstormers for his rookie Indoor Football League (IFL) season. Collegiately, Wilson began his career at Butler Community College for one season where he helped the team go 8-4 before transferring to Iowa State. Wilson spent four seasons with the Cyclones appearing in 44 games and recording 21 receptions for 249 yards and one touchdown, earning Second Team Academic All-Big 12 in his junior season.

"Darren is a big time receiver who was very well respected at Iowa State," said Coach Mogensen. "He played behind a lot of guys who are now in the NFL and we feel he is the kind of guy who will explode when given the opportunity. I know the local Cyclone fans will appreciate seeing him in a Barnstormers uniform."

The former Cyclone looks forward to joining the Barnstormers receiving corps for the 2024 season.

"I signed with the Iowa Barnstormers because they offer a great opportunity for growth and a platform where I can showcase my abilities at a professional level," said Wilson. "I am extremely excited to return to Iowa, make an impact on this team, and the opportunity to compete for an IFL National Championship."

Wilson will join the Iowa Barnstormers 2024 Training Camp in the spring.
