Barnstormers Remain 2-0 against the Sioux Falls Storm

Iowa Barnstormers (4-2) differed to start the game. The Sioux Falls Storm (3-3) started the game with a quick touchdown in hopes to get revenge from their last match up with the Barnstormers, but the Barnstormers answered right back. RB Covaliu found his way into the endzone to put up six points on the board to make it 6-7 with 6:26 left in the first quarter.

In the second quarter the Barnstormers did not let up, QB Daquan Neal executed his signature quarterback keeper and dodged multiple Storm defenders and dove into the end zone to put the Barnstormers up 13-7 at the start of the second quarter. The Barnstormers defense also showed up big time with two interceptions made by DB David Haney and LB Gabriel McCoy. With seconds left in the first half, Kicker Gabriel Rui put the ball through the goal post for his second field goal of the game. Barnstormers led 33-21 at the half.

The scoring continued for Barnstormers RB Covaliu. He found the endzone for the fourth time of the night, putting the Barnstormers in charge, 40-21 with 11:05 left in the third quarter. Barnstormers Kicker Gabriel Rui also completed his farthest field goal of the night to put the Barnstormers up 43-28 with minutes left in the third quarter.

The Storm tried inching their way back into the game with a touchdown and two-point conversion attempt. The two-point conversion attempt was picked off by Barnstormers DL Tony Jones in the endzone to keep the Barnstormers ahead 50-34 with 9:08 left in the fourth quarter. QB Daquan Neal finds WR Carrington Thompson in the endzone for the second time of the night putting another touchdown on the board. The Storm tried to fight back with a late touchdown in the fourth quarter with seconds left in the game, but it was not enough. Barnstormers come away with their second win against the Sioux Falls Storm of the 2021 season, 57-47.

The Barnstormers are on the road next week to face the Green Bay Blizzards (3-4), Friday, June 25, 2021. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:05 pm CST. Fans will have the opportunity to stream the game live on Youtube.
